COVID-19 is a global pandemic declared by WHO on March 11, 2020. The first case of the disease was reported on December 31, 2019, to the World health organization from Wuhan city of China. More than 10,137,646 confirmed cases are reported from all over the world (213 countries) in which the United States suffers most with 2,597,891 total cases and 128,163 deaths until now.

Covid-19 is a respiratory illness that spreads from a virus named coronavirus who belongs to the family of Coronaviridea. This virus when enters into the body resides in the cell where it began to divide unconditionally and attack the immune system. If the immune system of the person who got infected with the virus is already suffering from some other kind of medical problems like asthma, diabetes, or cardiovascular disease there must be an already weakening of the immune system, and hence the chances of affecting with virus increase more. This mostly occurs in the case of older people who are above 65 years of age whose immune system is already underlying with other diseases as well.

No licensed vaccine for the treatment of Covid-19 has prepared still. But social distancing, washing your hands properly for 20 seconds, wearing fabric or surgical masks, using alcohol-based hands rub, maintaining a distance of at least 1m(3 feet) are some important factors that help to prevent COVID-19. Coronavirus symptoms usually spread from an infected person through their saliva droplets, nose discharge, sneeze, and cough.

According to WHO, 80% of the people cure by isolating themselves and following precautionary measures without hospitalization. while 20% of the people become seriously ill and this virus mostly ends up with serious respiratory illness including pneumonia of one or both lungs and then tiny air sacs called bronchi and alveoli filled up with mucus and it causes shortness of breath in an infected person.

When the virus attacks a person, the immune system of a person began to produce antibodies which help to invade the rapidly growing virus but if immunity of a person is not enough strong to combat with virus then WBC's release pyrogen that causes a rise in body temperature which is surely the first sign in coronavirus patient then proceeding shortness of breath, fatigue, cough headache respiratory stress anosmia (loss of smell and taste) are other signs and symptoms that occur in between 2 to 14 days.

Myth Busters

During the pandemic, a lot of people generated many misconceptions on social media related to COVID-19 which may prove fatal for human life. Some of those fallacies contain drinking methanol, ethanol or spirit can prevent virus but this is nothing than dangerous liquids for the human body and it’s functioning and hence can’t cure COVID-19. Similarly, exposure to the sun or by remaining in a cold-weather cannot prevent Coronavirus. UV radiation lamps cannot kill the virus or disinfect your hands, eating garlic and onion couldn't stop virus from infecting you. On the other hand, it is illogical to use antibiotics to suppress the virus because antibiotics are just used to kill or inhibit the growth of bacteria not viruses. But if you have any other complications that may require antibiotics than you can surely use them with medicines that cure viruses.

Remember no one can detect coronavirus with simple thermal scanners used for simple accessing of temperature. There is a proper method to diagnose the virus in which a medical strip is inserted into the patient's nose or throat to obtain mucus and the test is performed with fully automated chemiluminescence using FDA authorized kits.

The importance of mask in Covid-19

COVID-19 until now has taken a lot of lives all over the world. Adopting precautionary measures can be helpful in this case while using the mask is seen as a major thing we can do to prevent the virus. There are two kinds of masks used for this purpose one is fabric and the other is surgical mask. Fabric masks can be used many times and should be washed once in a day while the surgical masks must be thrown after a single-use. While wearing surgical masks the dark side should be on the front side and hands should be sanitized before and after using masks. Masks can prevent 90% of the virus if the person who is infected and the person who is avoiding both are wearing the masks properly.

Moreover, many previously originated medicines are using for preventing Coronavirus which include REMEDISIVIR, CHLOROQUINE, LOPINAVIR, RITONAVIR, and HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE which are helpful in some cases but also the misuse of such medicines or using them without doctors advise can cause serious side-effects and illness.

Patients who are contaminated with the virus must avoid smoking, have proper rest, should be isolated, drink plenty of water, avoid gatherings, and should wear mask perfectly.

He who creates a poison also has the cure.
He who creates a virus also has the antidote.
He who creates chaos also has the ability to create peace.
He who sparks hate also has the ability to transform it to love.
He who creates misery also has the ability to destroy it with kindness.
He who creates sadness also has the ability to covert it to happiness.
He who creates darkness can also be awakened to produce illumination.
He who spreads fear can also be shaken to spread comfort.
Any problems created by the left hand of man,
Can also be solved with the right,
For he who manifests anything,
Also has the ability to
Destroy it.”

Stay safe, Stay healthy, Stay inside your homes, and keep smiling.
